What Do You Do With A Run Down Hacienda In Mexico?

Just outside of Merida, Mexico sat an old, rundown hacienda next to a cool cenote.  So a group of enlightened investors and business folks decided to turn it into an awesome Spa and Resort.  Good idea.  And very good for the rest of us who can now enjoy the Chable Resort.

What does Chable mean?  As a surname from Roman Origin, it means “A Horse Soldier” for the French a rank of nobility.  According to the Urban Dictionary, it is a chair/table combination.  A “ChAble”.  Whatever the meaning, this place has been crowned “The World’s Best Designed Hotel”.  In 2017, Chable was awarded the Prix Versailles – an annual award presented by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the International Union of Architects.

A few nights ago I was at a very nice gathering in Cancun where I met the principal architect for this project, Jorge.  He and I had a great conversation about Chable.  They left much of the existing hacienda and associated buildings intact and integrated this with modern spa and resort.  The result is a stunning combination of old and new.  It is spectacular.

From what I now know the service is unparalleled.  Every detail is looked after.  Chable is one of the finest resorts in Mexico and the world.  It will be one of the best experiences of your life!
